Changes to the Province-wide Recycling Program - January 1, 2026

Circular Materials Ontario (CMO) manages recycling services throughout Ontario.

New items have been added to the list of recyclable materials.

Industrial, Commercial & Institutional (IC&I) businesses, including places of worship, municipal buildings, daycares, commercial farms, charities, campgrounds, and trailer parks, will no longer receive curbside recycling collection and are now responsible for establishing and managing their own recycling programs in accordance with provincial regulations.

To help ease this transition, the Township is accepting IC&I recyclable materials at the 6th Line Transfer Station.  This commenced on January 5, 2026.

Residential properties will continue to receive curbside recycling collection.

Take notice that the Council of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen will hold a Special Council Meeting (closed session) on Friday, January 30, 2026. 

The purpose of this Special Council Meeting is to discuss use of property and a legal matter in closed session. 

This meeting is not open to the public.
