Parks and Playgrounds

The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen's Arena and Parks Department are in charge of the maintenance and booking of the arena's and parks throughout the Township.  Please visit our Facilities page to see a full listing of the Township owned facilities.  The parks and playgrounds do not normally require a booking unless you are planning a large gathering or a special event at one of the parks.

Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Community Centre

The arena has a large lobby and viewing area for spectators and there are four large dressing rooms equipped with showers.

The upstairs banquet hall and downstairs meeting room at the Community Centre is operated by the Havelock Lions Club and they can be reached at 705-778-2911.

Event to be held on Municipal Property

This form is to be submitted if you would like to host an event which will be located on Municipal property.

The request for an event(s) to be held on Municipal Property should be submitted no later that 30 days prior to the event date. The request will be directly submitted to the Supervisor of Parks, Recreation and Facilities for review and approval from Council will be required prior to the event date. 2024 Season 

Public skating is available and FREE to all. Please note for skater safety, we strongly recommend skaters wear CSA certified helmet and all children under the age of 12-years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Don't forget your skates! 
Note: Please be aware there is a 10 minute flood within the scheduled timeframe.

This outdoor arena is maintained by the Cordova Mines Recreation Association in partnership with the Township. This facility can be used all year for a variety of activities.

Havelock Lions Millennium Park

Highway 7 (Village Ward)

This park is located right on Highway 7 with lots of parking and is equipped with benches, picnic tables and picnic shelters. This is a great spot to take a break from driving or have a meal on the go. There is a portable washroom available during the summer months. Look for the yellow caboose. The ownership and maintenance of this park is a partnership between the Township and the Havelock Lions Club.


Kasshabog Lake Park

431 Peninsula Road, Havelock, ON K0L 1Z0

This park is located off of County Road 46 north of the village along the sandy shore of Kasshabog Lake. The park has a large grassy area with picnic tables making it a great place to have a family gathering or a picnic. There is an outdoor washroom available during the summer months.

Mathison Conservation Area

39 George Street East, Havelock, ON K0L 1Z0

The Mathison Property is a 250 acre natural area of scenic forests and wetlands located north of the Village of Havelock. It has 1.6 kilometers of multiuse trails for walking, biking and ATV/Snowmobiling us and 1.1 kilometers of walking only trails. This property was graciously donated to the Township by John Mathison in 2001 for conservation, education and recreation purposes.

Rotary Park

This park is a hidden gem in the Township that has a small pond and is equipped with picnic tables and a picnic shelter. The park is a great place for small family gatherings or just a great place to relax and enjoy the nature and scenery. This park was generously donated to the Township by the Rotary Club of Havelock.

Concession Street Park

This playground is located just south of the lights on County Road 30 and has a range of playground equipment for children of all ages. The park has picnic tables and a tennis court on site. Parking is available at the Medical Centre.


Cordova Mines Park

55 Alfred Street East, Havelock, ON K0L 1Z0

This park is located in the hamlet of Cordova Mines and there is a small playground located to the rear of the library and recreation hall. There is a shelter on site and picnic tables.


George Street Park

39 George Street East, Havelock, ON K0L 1Z0

This park is the largest playground facility in the Township and is located on the grounds of the arena and ballpark. There are picnic tables and a large shaded area at this park.

A splash pad was added in 2022 along with playground upgrades, including a new swing set, flying saucer swing and climbing structure with protective surfacing, providing fun and accessible activities for people of all mobility levels.

There is one fully fenced softball diamond equipped with lights. The ballpark can be booked through the Parks and Arena department at 705-778-2891.

The tennis court is open from May to September and is located at the Concession Street Park.

There is no cost to use the facility and it is available on a first come first served basis.
