Changes to the Province-wide Recycling Program - January 1, 2026

Circular Materials Ontario (CMO) manages recycling services throughout Ontario.

New items have been added to the list of recyclable materials.

Industrial, Commercial & Institutional (IC&I) businesses, including places of worship, municipal buildings, daycares, commercial farms, charities, campgrounds, and trailer parks, will no longer receive curbside recycling collection and are now responsible for establishing and managing their own recycling programs in accordance with provincial regulations.

To help ease this transition, the Township is accepting IC&I recyclable materials at the 6th Line Transfer Station.  This commenced on January 5, 2026.

Residential properties will continue to receive curbside recycling collection.

Havelock’s Cameron Spalding is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026.

The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Council, Staff and Community are proud to support local snowboarder Cameron Spalding as he competes for Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics. 

We wish Cameron every success and will be cheering him on as he represents our community on the world stage.
