George St. Construction - Progress Report July 14 to July 25, 2025

As we draw nearer to July 11th the new watermain and services have been connected to the properties, as well as the new watermain connections to the existing watermain.

The crews have been grading the sidewalk areas in preparation for the coming of the concrete crews, as well as preparing for and placing the armour stone walls.

Unfortunately, with the preparation, forming, and pouring of the sidewalks there will NOT be any driveway access to your properties commencing July 14th. Please find suitable parking elsewhere with parking passes available to those affected. QBT has sent notices to affected properties, including the anticipated timeline.

In addition, preparatory works will begin on Quebec Street between Ontario Street and Hwy 7. Traffic will be allowed, however expect some delays.

Beginning on or about July 21st, there will be what is called a “Hard Closure” at Quebec Street and Hwy 7, whereby #7 Eastbound traffic will be guided to the southernmost lane and Westbound #7 traffic will be guided to the lane south of the centreline. Please exercise caution when driving through this area. This closure will remain for approximately one week.

This closure will prevent any access to Quebec Street from Hwy 7. Business deliveries via Ontario Street will require alternate access. Detour signs will be in place to provide detour routes.
