Canada Post Interruption & Bill Payment
Due to the Canada Post labour disruption, The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen will not be sending any mail, including notices and bills. Residents and vendors of the Township who have received invoices or tax bills are still required to pay their bills on time, despite the postal disruption.
Utility and Property Tax Payments
Payments can be made via online banking (please allow 3-4 business days for us to receive your payment in office), by debit, cash or cheque during regular business hours, via credit card through Paymentus on hbmtwp.ca website, or cheques can be left in the drop box outside the Municipal Office at 1 Ottawa Street East, Havelock.
Planning Notices
Planning notices will continue to be posted online, and a physical sign will still be posted on the subject property. If you have any questions, please contact the Planning Department at 705-778-2308 ext. 777 or by email at planning@hbmtwp.ca.
Consolidated financial statements of the Corporation of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen are the responsibility of management and have been approved by Council.
The consolidated financial statements are prepared by management in accordance with Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards. Financial statements are not precise as they include certain amounts based on estimates and judgements.
The Township maintains systems of internal accounting and administrative controls of high quality, consistent with reasonable cost. These systems are designed to provide reasonable assurance that the financial information is relevant, reliable and accurate and that the Townships assets are appropriately accounted for and adequately safeguarded.
Council is responsible for ensuring that management fulfills its responsibilities for financial reporting and is ultimately responsible for reviewing and approving financial statements. Council reviews and approves the Townships financial statements for issuance to the members of Council, inhabitants and ratepayers of the Corporation of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen.
The consolidated financial statements have been audited by Collins Barrow Kawarthas LLP in accordance with Canadian generally accepted auditing standards on behalf of the Township.

Low – open-air burning permitted with a permit
Moderate – open-air burning permitted with conditions and a permit
High – No Day Time Burning – no open-air burning permitted, only small campfires in the evening with extreme care
Extreme – No Day Time Burning – no open-air burning permitted, only small campfires in the evening with conditions and extreme care
Fire Ban – No Open-Air Burning Permitted at Anytime, No Campfires Permitted
Small recreational/campfires do not need a fire permit.
