Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Announces Retirement of Fire Chief 

The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen announces the retirement of Fire Chief Ray Haines. 

After 37 years of dedicated service to the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen, 
Chief Haines will retire effective October 30, 2026. Chief Haines began his service with the HBM Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter, serving the community for several years before being appointed Deputy Fire Chief in April 2000 and then being appointed as Fire Chief in June 2007. Following his appointment in 2007, Chief Haines successfully undertook the required training and assumed the additional responsibilities of Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC). In his role as CEMC Chief Haines planned, developed, and coordinated the Township’s emergency response, mitigation, and recovery programs.

Throughout his career, Chief Haines has demonstrated a tireless commitment to the fire service and an unwavering dedication to protecting the residents of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen. His leadership, experience, and commitment to mentoring future firefighters have had a lasting impact on the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Fire Department and the broader community. Chief Haines has consistently demonstrated a strong 24/7 work ethic and a dedication to the community of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen.

Under the leadership of Chief Haines, the Department has continued to deliver consistent emergency response, fire prevention, and public education services while maintaining a strong culture of hard work and community service. 

The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen extends its sincere appreciation to Chief 
Ray Haines for his years of dedicated service and leadership and wishes him every 
success and happiness in retirement.
