Reconstruction of County Road 48 (George Street) Phase 2

Re: Reconstruction of County Road 48 (George Street) Phase 2

QBT Excavating Services Ltd. is beginning the reconstruction of George Street Phase 2. The reconstruction covers underground water, sewer, stormwater management, and surface improvements such as new pavement, sidewalks, and parking.

Fall of 2026:
William Street - Stormwater management infrastructure is being installed, starting at the outfall pipe on the south side of Hwy 7, we will progress across Hwy 7 and into William Street this fall of 2026 before winter sets in to resume in spring of 2027. Road surfaces of William Street will be restored for ease of snow removal and our equipment will be removed for the winter.

Traffic Considerations:
While we start work on the south side of Hwy 7 and cross it, there will be traffic impacts and lane restrictions of Hwy 7, and William Street will be closed to through traffic altogether. The intersection of William and George still remains open to the East, West and North traffic.

Safety Concerns:
Please be aware that the nature of the work involves deep excavations, operation of large heavy equipment, etc. Although areas will be fenced and full safety measures installed for the project, please ensure that children, etc. are kept a safe distance from all work areas.
