Quebec Street Construction Report Sept 22 to Oct 3, 2025

A Storm Manhole was delivered and installed on September 17th. With an internal diameter of 3 metres (9.8 feet), an outside diameter of 3.6 metres (11.8 feet), and a combined total in excess of 35 tonnes. It consisted of a base section, two riser sections and a flat top. In comparison, our standard Sanitary Manhole has an internal diameter of 1.2 metres (4 feet) generally weighing in at an average of 8 tonnes.

QBT has completed the watermain installation with testing and chlorinating operations scheduled to begin Monday Sept 22, 2025. Bacteria test results should be received by Friday September 26, 2025. Connections to the existing watermain and service to the various properties will begin on Monday September 29, 2025. There will be water service disruptions during this time, however notices will be handed out informing those affected of dates and times.

Watermain testing will take place September 22, 2025 to September 26, 2025 and QBT will continue with the storm sewer installation from George Street West to Ontario Street.
 
Road grading is underway at the southern portion of Quebec Street as well as preparation of the sidewalk areas. This work will continue following the storm sewer installation.

In summary, over the next two weeks the watermain and storm sewer work will be completed. The road work well underway and the concrete work will begin.
