National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30, 2026

The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen joins communities across Canada in recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Earlier today, the Every Child Matters flag was raised at the Municipal Office by Mayor Martin, Deputy Mayor Webb, Councillor Clement, and Councillor Flagler with Township staff participating in support. This act symbolizes the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

We encourage residents to listen, learn, and take meaningful action toward building understanding, respect, and healing with Indigenous Peoples.

Together, we can work toward a future built on truth, respect, and reconciliation.
