HBM Township - Construction Progress Report - August 25th to Sept 5th, 2025
Progress Report August 25th to Sept 5th, 2025
As I’m sure most of you have noticed the “by-pass” on Hwy #7 at Quebec Street has been removed. Both the East and Westbound lanes are fully open. The barrels have been left to protect pedestrians as they pass by the zone.

As we work our way north on Quebec Street I’m sure there will be some disruptions….please feel free to speak with QBT staff and they will do their utmost to accommodate.
Please note: THE INTERSECTION OF GEORGE ST AND QUEBEC STREET WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY AND REMAIN CLOSED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD.
There will be a temporary water shut down with notices provided well in advance.

As a reminder, and since I specified the following in a previous report, Road Closed signs mean the ROAD IS CLOSED. Local traffic refers ONLY to those who live within the block, no others.

In the first of the above photos you will note that local traffic is permitted, and that there is no exit ahead.
The second photo shows Road Closed…..Only if you are a resident in this section or have business between these two signs (ie. Carwash) are you permitted between these two signs.
I have been advised that vehicles and 4 wheelers have proceeded beyond the Road Closed signs during evenings and weekends. This is a direct contravention of the Ontario Traffic Act.
I am aware of two cases where a driver proceeded beyond a Road Closed sign. In one case the fine was $265 and 3 demerit points, and the second was $365 and 3 demerit points. If you value your driver’s license and your finances, you are susceptible to the hefty fines and demerit points. For your own safety DO NOT proceed beyond the Road Closed signs.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
