Construction Update – George Street/County Road 48, Havelock

Work to Resume Next Week

In partnership with the County of Peterborough, QBT Excavating and Services Ltd. and Jewell Engineering, The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen would like to advise residents along George Street and throughout the Village of Havelock that construction activities on George Street were temporarily paused to allow for the review of pertinent project-related information.
 
We can appreciate the inconvenience to all area residents, businesses, and visitors that this pause in operations has caused, and we thank-you for your patience and co-operation while this review took place.
 
This temporary interruption has allowed for a thorough review of process and enabled a determining of the appropriate next steps and actions to allow the resumption of construction operations.
 
We can advise, that effective next week, construction operations along George Street and Oak Street will resume with the final preparations as to permit concrete works and asphalt paving.
 
The Township has been working on finding safety solutions for our residents and visitors.  The safety of HBM residents remains our top priority. Please use extreme caution around construction areas and if crossing Highway 7.
