The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen welcomes all visitors, residents and people having business with the township to our meetings.
Requesting to be a delegation
- When someone comes to a meeting to speak to Council it is called a Delegation.
- Request to be a delegation to the clerk in writing by noon of the Wednesday before the council meeting.
- Explain why you want to speak to council, provide as much detail as possible.
Being a delegation at council
- When you come to the meeting to speak to Council you will be allowed ten (10) minutes. No more than two (2) persons are allowed to speak as part of your delegation. You will be asked to stand at the podium and speak to Council and the audience. If you give us information by noon of the Wednesday before, we can display your pdf presentation (example; maps of a property) on the TV monitors in the Council Chamber while you make your presentation.
- The Clerk may decide to place a delegation to a future meeting for scheduling or other relevant reasons.
- If you are not scheduled on the agenda as a delegation you will be allowed five (5) minutes to speak when the Mayor calls for delegations from the audience.
