Municipal Election 2018
The next local election will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018. You will be voting for a Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor-at-Large, and either the Councillor in the Township Ward or the Councillor in the Village Ward depending on where your primary residence is located or, if you are a non-resident elector, the location of the land in which you are an owner or tenant.

Election guides for voters, candidates, and third-party advertisers have been prepared by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs for the municipal election being held on Monday, October 22, 2018., and include updated accompanying forms. The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen (HBM) will offer three options for casting your ballot.
For the first time, the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen will offer internet and telephone voting. If you are an eligible elector, you will be able to vote from a mobile device, computer, telephone, cell phone, tablet, or laptop. Internet and telephone voting is a convenient option for electors, allowing you to access ballots anytime, anywhere after the voting period begins.
If you are an eligible voter you will receive a personalized voting instruction package well in advance of Election Day (October 22, 2018) with details on how to vote online or by phone. An electronic voting station will also be available for public use at the Municipal Office during the voting period. The electronic voting period will be Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, October 22, 2018 at 8:00 p.m.

The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen will also offer a traditional paper ballot voting option. The traditional, walk-in, paper-ballot voting option will only be available at the Municipal Office on Voting Day (Monday, October 22, 2018) from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
As an HBM voter, you will also have the option of voting for a School Board Trustee representing the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board or the Peterborough, Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board or the French-Language Public School Board or French-Language Separate School Board depending on the school support that you have chosen.

2018 Election - Candidate Financial Statements |
The last municipal election was held on October 22, 2018. All 2018 Municipal Council candidates had to complete a Financial Statement (Form 4) for all the money they raised and spent during the campaign period. The Municipal Elections Act orders candidates who raised and spent more than $10,000 for their campaigns to have their financial statement audited. They must submit the auditor's report to the Clerk along with their financial statement. The auditor's report must be prepared by an auditor licensed under the Public Accounting Act, 2004. The Municipal Elections Act also requires that the Township make the Financial Statement - Auditor's Report Form 4 available for everyone to see. The form for each candidate has been posted below:
