Reduction in Water Usage: Effective Immediately
Public Notice
Reduction in Water Usage
Please be advised that due to lowering aquifer levels, the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen deems it necessary to issue a request for the reduction in water usage.
This action is required to reduce the non-essential use of water by the users of the system to protect the current low water levels of the municipal wells.
As recommended by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), this request for reduced water usage allows for continued household water use but encourages residents to reduce their usage as much as possible.
This request for reduced water usage will remain in effect until further notice.
The Township will monitor the situation with the Crowe Valley Conservation Authority (CVCA) and the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA). This action is required to reduce the non-essential use of water by the users of the system to protect the current low water levels of the municipal wells.
Township officials are asking residents of the Village Ward for your co-operation to restrict the use of water from the municipal water system in the Havelock Ward.
